Shahi Malai Paneer recipe is so soft and creamy, melts in the mouth.

Shahi Malai Paneer is an easy and quick recipe. The main ingredients for the recipe are Paneer, Malai, tomato, cashew, green chili, butter, dry fenugreek leaves, and spices. This malai paneer dish is semi-dry and has a nice moistness due to the cream. I have used malai here, you can also use store fresh cream. Added these dried fenugreek leaves to give the dish a nice aroma and flavor. You can serve it with phulkas, chapatis, or naan. The taste may vary from mild to spicy as per choice. Ingredients

  • Ghee - 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Tomato - 2 medium-sized
  • Ginger - 1 small sized
  • Green chili - 1 small sized
  • Cashew - 6 to 7
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Kashmiri red chili - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder- 1 teaspoon
  • Roasted cumin powder - 1 teaspoon (optional)
  • Paneer cubes/ cottage cheese - 7 to 8
  • Salt - as required
  • Fresh cream/malai - 2 tablespoon
  • Garam masala/mixed spice - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Kasuri methi/dry fenugreek leaves - 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan.
  2. Add cumin seeds and paste to it. The paste consists of a mixture of tomato, ginger, green chili, and cashew. Grind it to make a paste.
  3. Add turmeric powder, kashmiri red chili paste (soak chili in water), coriander powder, and roasted cumin powder. Saute and cover it.
  4. Add paneer cubes and mix it well. Saute and keep the flame medium.
  5. Add salt and malai to it. Saute well and cover it.
  6. Add garam masala and kasuri methi. Mix well.
  7. Delicious Shahi Malai Paneer is ready to be served.
