Ingredients

  • Fried Onion / Pyaz - Big sized sliced
  • Cumin Seeds / Jeera - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder / Haldi Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Tomato Puree / Tamatar Ki Puree - Of 2 tomatoes
  • Red Chilli Powder / Lal Mirch Powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander Powder / Dhaniya Powder - 1 tsp
  • Cashew / Kaju - 8 to 10
  • Ginger / Adrak - 1 Inch finely chopped
  • Curd / Dahi - 1 tbsp
  • Cumin Seeds Powder / Jeera Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • All Spice Mix Powder / Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
  • Dry Fenugreek Leaves / Kasuri Methi - 1 tsp
  • Green Chilli / Hari Mirchi - 1 Slit
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Parboiled Green peas / Hare Matar - 1/2 Cup
  • Cottage Cheese / Paneer - 1 Cup diced
  • Homemade Malai - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander Leaves / Hara Dhaniya - A handful
  • tsp = teaspoon
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Take fried onion, cashews, ginger, and curd in a grinding jar. Grind it for a few seconds to prepare its paste. Keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and tomato puree. Mix well.
  3. Add red chilli powder and coriander powder. Mix well. Saute it for 2 to 3 minutes on medium flame till the oil separates. Keep stirring occasionally.
  4. Then add the prepared fried onion paste and mix well.
  5. Now add cumin seeds powder, all spice mix powder, dry fenugreek leaves, and green chilli. Mix well.
  6. Add salt and mix well. Then add green peas, paneer, and homemade malai. Mix well. Saute it for 1 to 2 minutes on medium flame.
  7. Add coriander leaves and mix well. Once done, turn off the flame and take it out in a serving bowl.
  8. 'Shahi Matar Paneer' is ready to be served with lachha paratha.
