Stripy Zebra Cake : Rich and Sumptuous

Ingredients

  • Maida/All Purpose Flour - 1 cup
  • Sugar - 2/3 cup
  • Butter - 2/3 cup
  • Milk - 2/3 cup + 2 tablespoons
  • Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Baking soda - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cocoa powder - 3 teaspoon
  • Vanilla essence - 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. First, beat butter and sugar together in a bowl, until it gets light and fluffy.
  2. Add maida all purpose flour, milk -2/3 cup, vanilla essence and mix gently.
  3. Add baking powder, baking soda and give a good mix.
  4. Divide the batter into two equal parts.
  5. To one part, add cocoa powder and to the other, add the remaining milk and mix gently.
  6. Grease a cake tin and pour 1 tablespoon of cocoa mix batter at the center of the cake tin.
  7. Put 1 teaspoon of milk mixed batter on top of the cocoa mixed batter.
  8. Repeat this step until the batter is over.
  9. Preheat the oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes and bake the cake.
  10. Once done, insert a toothpick at the center of the cake. If it comes out clean then cake is fully baked and ready. If there is batter on the toothpick then bake for 5 more minutes.
  11. Delicious stripy Zebra cake is ready . Serve it once it is completely cooled .
