Tomato Sauce | Tomato Ketchup is a delicious sauce for everyone. 

Everyone loves the most popular  Tomato Sauce | Tomato Ketchup. Now, you can easily prepare this sauce very easily at home without any preservative. You just need some tomatoes, sugar, some spices. You can prepare and store it for a longer time. It is a healthy alternative because it does not have preservatives, artificial colours, additives. It is very healthy and fresh that everyone will love this. Kids can eat it as much as they want and you do not have to worry about. So, try this simple recipe at home and let us know your feedback.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • Use ripe and red coloured tomatoes to make the sauce.
  • You can cook the tomatoes in the vessel as well as in the pressure cooker. If you are using pressure cooker then add little water to it.
  • Add salt to the ketchup at the end.
  • Keep the sauce/ketchup in the sterilized bottle. To sterilize the bottle, wash it with hot water then dry it under the Sun.
  • You can store it in the refrigerator for about 7 months.

Ingredients

  • Tomato - 1 KG chopped
  • Ginger - 1 & 1/2 inch piece grated
  • Sugar - 3/4 Cup
  • Salt - 4 Teaspoon
  • Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Garam Masala/All Spice Mix - 1 Teaspoon
  • Vinegar - 2 Tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Heat a vessel or a pan. Add chopped tomatoes. Cook it on a low-medium flame by covering with a lid.
  2. After 2 to 3 minutes stir it. Add grated ginger and mix well. Cover and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes or until tomatoes turns soft. (if you you can add onion and garlic as well. Add them along with ginger)
  3. Once tomatoes are cooked, let it cool completely. Then grind to make puree. Strain the mixture using a strainer.
  4. Heat a pan or kadai. Add tomato puree and cook on a high flame.
  5. Once it is boiled, add sugar and mix well. Let it cook until it gets thicken.
  6. Add kashmiri red chilli powder, garam masala. Mix well and cook.
  7. Finally, add vinegar and salt. Mix well. Cook for a minute then switch off the flame. ( to check whether sauce is ready, put a drop on a plate and tilt the plate. If it does not flow then it is ready) Let it cool completely. Fill the sauce in the sterilized bottle.
  8. Tomato Sauce | Tomato Ketchup is ready to use.
  • Ready in : 20 to 25 Minutes
