Traditional Gujarati Kadhi | Pyaaz Ki Kadhi is a wonderful treat for lunch or dinner.

Traditional Gujarati Kadhi | Pyaaz Ki Kadhi is very delicious and easy to make. This recipe contains fresh curd, chickpea flour, and some spices. This kadhi goes well with rice. Moreover, this dish doesn’t require more ingredients. All ingredients are easily available at home. It takes only 5 minutes to prepare. This is a super easy recipe.  So, try to make it at home and let us know your feedback.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • You can add a pinch of turmeric powder.
  • You can also add a pinch of sugar to this Kadhi.
  • Do not fry onion more. The crunchiness of onion is required.
  • The addition of water and salt is as per requirement.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Curd / Dahi - 1 Cup
  • Chickpea Flour / Besan - 1/2 to 2 Tablespoon
  • Green Chillies / Hari Mirch - 2 (Slit half and Seeds Removed)
  • Onion - 1 (Finely Chopped)
  • Black Pepper / Kali Mirch - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Clarified Butter / Ghee - 1 Tablespoon
  • Mustard Seeds / Rai - 1 Teaspoon
  • Cumin Seeds / Jeera - 1 Teaspoon
  • Curry Leaves / Kadhi Patta - 10 to 15
  • Cloves / Laung - 2
  • Water (Room Temperature) - 1/2 Glass
  • Hot Water - 1/4 Glass
  • Salt - 1 Teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Take a mixing bowl. Add whisked or beaten curd, besan, salt, black pepper.
  2. Add half glass of room temperature water in the mixture and beat it well.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan, add mustard seeds and let it splutter. Gas flame on Medium.
  4. Now add cumin seeds, green chillies, curry leaves, cloves. Stir it well.
  5. Then add finely chopped onion. Fry it for 30 Seconds to 1 Minute.
  6. Now add the prepared Kadhi mixture in it and make gas in high flame. Stir continuously.
  7. When it starts to boil add hot water and salt. Stir continuously for few seconds.
  8. Delicious 'Traditional Gujarati Kadhi | Pyaaz Ki Kadhi' is ready to be served.
