Veg Frankie | Veg Cheese Frankie is a mouthwatering meal for everyone. 

Veg Frankie | Veg Cheese Frankie is a delicious snack and a meal. This has veggies like potato, cabbage, some spices, lots of cheese which is favourite of all. This is a popular street food across India. Everyone especially kids love and enjoy this snack. You can serve it as a dinner or a light meal as well. Moreover, this is quick and easy to prepare with easily available ingredients. So, try to make this famous street food at home and enjoy with your family and friends. Do share your feedback as well.

Ingredients

  • INGREDIENTS FOR ROTI:-
  • Maida/Refined flour - 1 Cup
  • Gehu Ka aata/Whole wheat flour - 1 Cup
  • Oil - 1 Teaspoon + for roasting
  • Salt - as per taste
  • INGREDIENTYS FOR PATTICE:-
  • Boiled potato - 2
  • Garam Masala/all spice mix - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Amchur POwder/Dry Mango POwder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Chaat Masala - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli powder - 1/4 Teaspoon or as per taste
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Oil - as required
  • INGREDIENTS FOR SALAD:-
  • Cabbage - 1 Cup julienne
  • Onion - 1 sliced
  • Oil - 1 Teaspoon
  • Garam Masala/All spice mix - a pinch or 2
  • Salt - as per taste
  • OTHER INGREDIENTS:-
  • Veg Mayonnaise - as required
  • Schezwan Sauce or Chutney - as required
  • Amchut/Dry Mango Powder - as per taste
  • Chaat Masala - as per taste
  • Grated Cheese - as required

Instructions

  1. PREPARING ROTI:-
  2. Take a bowl and add refined flour, whole wheat flour, 1 teaspoon oil, salt. Mix well and add water to make soft dough like roti or chapati.
  3. Now, take small portion of the dough and roll it to make small thin roti.
  4. Meanwhile, heat a tawa.
  5. Cook the roti on a low flame until half cooked. Apply some oil while roasting it.
  6. Once done, take it out and keep aside.
  7. PREPARING PATTICE:-
  8. Take a bowl and add mashed potato, garam masala, chaat masala, dry mango powder, red chilli powder, salt. Mix well and make cylindrical shape pattice.
  9. Roast the pattice on low to medium flame until golden brown from both the sides. Apply some oil while roasting.
  10. PREPARING SALAD:-
  11. Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a pan.
  12. Add slices onion and saute for a minute.
  13. then add cabbage julienne and saute it on a high flame. Add salt and garam masala. Mix well and cook for few seconds and then switch off the flame. (keep it crunchy)
  14. PREPARING FRANKIE:-
  15. Now, take a roti and roast it little bit on a hot tawa.
  16. Take take it out on a plate. Spread mayonnaise and schezwan sauce.
  17. Spread the cabbage salad then sprinkle dry mango powder, chaat masala.
  18. Put the pattice and top it with grated cheese.
  19. Roll to make frankie.
  20. Delicious 'Veg Frankie | Veg Cheese Frankie' is ready to be served.
