5 Minute Breakfast | Besan Cheela is a quick breakfast recipe that is delicious.

5 Minute Breakfast | Besan Cheela is a breakfast recipe that has just one ingredient that is gram flour. It is an instant recipe that is healthy too. With no veggies, this can be made in a jiffy. This is a quick fix while you are running late to work and can be made in just 5 minutes.  This is too healthy and requires minimum ingredients, yet tasty. We have paired it up here, with a hot cup of tea.

  • Cook it on medium flame to let it cook properly.
  • Add spices according to taste.
  • Fennel seeds, dry mint powder form an important part of the recipe, as these enhance the taste.

Ingredients

  • Gram flour / Besan - 1 Cup
  • Water - As required
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Fennel seeds / Saunf - 1 Teaspoon
  • Dry mint powder / Pudina powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Mixed herbs + Red chiili flakes - 1 Teaspoon ( as per taste )
  • Clarified Butter / Ghee - As required

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, take gram flour and add water while adjusting consistency. Whisk rigorously.
  2. Add salt, red chilli powder, fennel seeds, dry mint powder and mixed herbs ( as per taste ) and whisk again.
  3. Once everything is combined, check consistency and add little more water if needed. It must be of flowing consistency.
  4. On a hot skillet ( tawa ), spread litttle ghee for greasing.
  5. Spread the batter on skillet like a dosa.
  6. Let it cook on medium flame and apply little ghee on upper side.
  7. Now, flip it and let it cook on the other side too, while pouring ghee on the sides. Once it turns golden brown from both the sides, take it off the flame.
  8. 5 Minute Breakfast | Besan Cheela is ready to be relished with tea.
