Achar Masala | Homemade Pickle Masala is to prepare different types of pickles. 

Do you know you can prepare ‘Achar Masala | Homemade Pickle Masala’ very easily with fewer and readily available ingredients? You can prepare many pickles using this masala. This uses some basic spices like mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, asafoetida, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and oil. You have to just mix the ingredients to prepare this masala. The good thing is you can store this masala for a longer time. Moreover, you can prepare mango pickle or any type of pickle or achari sabji using this masala.   • This masala can be stored for 2 years in an airtight container.
  • This masala can be used for preparing achari sabji.

Ingredients

  • Split Yellow Mustard Seeds/Rai Ki Dal - 1/2 Cup
  • Crushed fenugreek seeds/Methi Dal - 2 Teaspoon
  • Asafoetida/Hing - 1 & 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli Powder/Lal Mirch Powder - 3 to 4 Tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Salt - 2 to 3 Teaspoon
  • Oil - 1/4 Cup

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the salt for a minute and then turn off the flame.
  2. Heat oil in a pan.
  3. Meanwhile, take a bowl and add rai dal/split yellow mustard seeds, crushed fenugreek seeds, and asafoetida. Mix well.
  4. Add hot oil to the masala. Cover and keep aside for 10 minutes or until it cools completely.
  5. Once it is cool, add roasted salt, and red chilli powder. Mix well. Keep it in an air tight container.
  6. 'Achar Masala | Homemade Pickle Masala' is ready to use.
