Tips and suggestions by a Mom Chef:

  • You can use any type of pickle to prepare this dish.
  • Add mustard oil, if don’t add achar to the curd.
  • Marinate the vegetables at least for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  • If desired, to marinate vegetables for a long time keep them in the refrigerator after 30 minutes.
  • You can roast the marinated vegetables directly on the tawa instead of adding them to the skewer.
  • You can prepare marinated vegetable skewers in advance and keep them in the refrigerator to save time.

Ingredients

  • Thick curd / Hung curd - 1 Cup
  • Ginger / Adrakh - 1 Inch grated
  • Garlic / Lahsun - 3 to 4 Cloves grated
  • Dry fenugreek leaves / Kasuri methi - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Red chilli powder / Lal mirch powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • All spice mix powder / Garam masala - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Chaat masala - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Dry mango powder / Aamchur powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Pickle / Achar - 1 Tablespoon
  • Green capsicum - 1 Cup diced
  • Onion / Pyaaz - 1 Diced
  • Paneer / Cottage Cheese - 1 Cup Diced
  • Oil - For roasting

Instructions

  1. Take thick curd in a bowl. Whisk it well. Add ginger, garlic, dry fenugreek leaves, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, all spice mix powder, chaat masala, and dry mango powder. Mix well.
  2. Then add pickle. Mix well. Add capsicum, onion, and paneer. Mix and coat it well. Then keep it aside for marination for 30 minutes.
  3. Now, take a skewer and put paneer, onion, and capsicum pieces one by one in it. Likewise, prepare all skewers.
  4. Meanwhile, heat a pan. Add little oil. Add prepared skewers on the tawa. Roast it for 2 to 3 minutes on the high flame from all sides by turning it in between.
  5. Grease it with oil. Roast it till becomes nice golden brown from all the sides. Once done, turn off the flame and transfer it to a serving plate.
  6. 'Achari Paneer Tikka On Tawa' is ready to be served.
