Aloo Pyaz Ka Lachha Pakoda | Laccha Pakora is a crispy, tasty winter special appetizer.

Aloo Pyaz Ka Lachha Pakoda | Laccha Pakora is spicy and colorful deep-fried fritter. It is made with onion, potato, gram flour, rice flour, and some spices. You can serve it with tomato ketchup and green chutney. Moreover, it has a nice golden and crisp outer layer. This instant dish you can serve to your guest and family within no time. Tips and suggestions by the Mom Chef:

  • The grated potato should be kept in the water otherwise, it will turn black.
  • You can add gram flour and water to adjust the consistency of the batter.
  • If you want, You can keep the batter in the refrigerator to save time.
  • You can add vegetables to the batter as per choice and availability.
  • Pakoda chaat can be prepared from the pakoda.

Ingredients

  • Potato / Aloo - 2
  • Onion / Pyaz - 2 Sliced
  • Water - As required
  • Gram flour / Besan - 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Rice flour / Chawal ka aata - 2 tsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder / Lal mirch powder - 1 tsp
  • All spice mix powder / Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder / Dhaniya powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida / Hing - A pinch
  • Carom seeds / Ajwain - 1 tsp
  • Chaat masala - 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli flakes - 1/2 tsp
  • Green chilli / Hari mirchi - 2 to 3 Finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful
  • Oil - For frying
  • tsp = teaspoon
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Take peeled potato. Grate it. Keep the grated potato in the water.
  2. Now take it out from the water by squeezing it with your palm and transfer it to a big bowl.
  3. Add onion, gram flour, rice flour, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, all spice mix powder, coriander powder, asafoetida, carom seeds by rubbing between your palm, chaat masala, chilli flakes, green chilli, coriander leaves, and little water. Mix well and prepare a thick consistency batter.
  4. Meanwhile, heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium flame. When the oil is medium hot, take small ball sized pakoda batter with wet fingers. Place it gently into the hot oil.
  5. When the top surface turns light golden brown, flip them using a slotted spoon.
  6. Deep fry them on medium flame until crispy and light golden brown from both sides, and take them out to a serving plate using a slotted spoon.
  7. 'Aloo Pyaz Ka Lachha Pakoda | Laccha Pakora' is ready to be served with green chutney and ketchup.
