Aloo Tikki | Falahari Aloo Tikki is a delicious and very healthy tikki for fasting days.

Aloo Tikki | Falahari Aloo Tikki is a nutritious and a mouthwatering snack when you are fasting. This is quick and easy to prepare snack recipe. This has a potato, peanuts, amaranth /rajgira flour, some spices and special ingredient that is cardamom powder. Cardamom powder gives a unique taste to the tikki. You can have it with curd or falahari chutney during fast. You can make this tikki for any other day too. This has amaranth flour that makes is a nutritious snack. So, try to make this tikki at home and enjoy with your loved ones.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • You can use singhada/water chestnut flour or kuttu/buckwheat flour instead of amaranth/rajgira flour.
  • Add spices according to your taste.
  • You can avoid black pepper or ginger if you want.

Ingredients

  • Boiled Potato - 2 mashed
  • Roasted Peanuts - 1 to 2 Teaspoon coarse powder
  • Rajgira/Amaranth flour - 1 to 2 Teaspoon
  • Black pepper powder - a pinch
  • Ginger - 1/2 inch piece grated
  • Green Chilli paste - as per taste
  • Rock salt/Sendha Namak - as per taste
  • Cumin/jeera powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Cardamom/Elaichi Powder - a pinch
  • Coriander Leaves - a handful
  • Oil - as required for shalow frying

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and add boiled mashed potato, black pepper powder, crushed green chilli, grated ginger, peanut powder, cardamom powder, rock salt, cumin powder, coriander leaves, amaranth flour. Mix all together.
  2. Grease your hands with oil. Then make small cutlets/tikki out of the mixture.
  3. Meanwhile, heat oil for shallow frying.
  4. Once oil is heated, shallow fry the tikki on a medium flame. Once it turns golden brown, flip it and cook it from another side.
  5. When the tikki turns nice golden brown from both the sides, take them out on a plate.
  6. Delicious 'Aloo Tikki | Falahari Aloo Tikki' is ready to be served.
