Bhaat Na Rasawala Muthia | Rasiya Muthiya is a traditional Gujarati curry.

Bhaat Na Rasawala Muthia | Rasiya Muthiya is made from leftover cooked rice and simmered in yogurt-based gravy. The texture of muthia is soft and it melts in your mouth. The gravy is slightly sour and medium spicy. It is one of the most interesting ways to use leftover rice. You can prepare it very easily, quickly. Ingredients

  • FOR PREPARING MASALA CURD :
  • Curd / Dahi - 1 Cup
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Coriander powder / Dhaniya powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder / Lal mirchi powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Water - As required
  • FOR PREPARING MUTHIYA :
  • Cooked rice / Chawal - 1 Cup
  • Gram flour / Besan - 3 to 4 Tablespoons
  • Red chilli powder / Lal mirchi powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Coriander powder / Dhaniya powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Water - As required
  • FOR PREPARING RASIYA MUTHIYA :
  • Oil - 1 Tablespoon
  • Mustard seeds / Rai - 1 Teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds / Jeera - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Asafoetida / Hing - A pinch
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful

Instructions

  1. FOR PREPARING MASALA CURD :
  2. Take curd in a bowl and whisk it well. Add little water. Mix well.
  3. Now add salt, coriander powder, red chilli powder, and turmeric powder. Mix well. Keep it aside.
  4. FOR PREPARING MUTHIYA :
  5. Take cooked rice in a bowl. Mash it with your hand. Add gram flour, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Now add little water. Mix well and prepare a thick consistency batter. Keep it aside.
  7. FOR PREPARING RASIYA MUTHIYA :
  8. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, and prepared masala curd. Mix well. Stir it continuously till it starts to boil.
  9. Now take the prepared muthiya batter and drop a small ball sized muthiya into the boiling curd mixture.
  10. Mix well and cook it for 2 to 3 minutes on medium flame.
  11. Once done, garnish it with coriander leaves. Mix well and take it out to a serving bowl.
  12. 'Bhaat Na Rasawala Muthia | Rasiya Muthiya' is ready to be served.
