Bhindi Capsicum Masala Sabji is a nice flavorful side dish.

Bhindi Capsicum Masala Sabji is different than the regular bhindi sabji. This sabji is a simple recipe as it uses fewer ingredients and does not require much effort to prepare it. The roasted gram flour along with spices like red chili powder, dry mango powder, and coriander seeds powder makes it a delicious dish. Hence, it becomes tasty and flavorful. This is also a healthy recipe as ladyfingers are very low in calories and rich in vitamins, calcium, and magnesium. Ingredients

  • Gram flour / Besan - 3 to 4 Teaspoons
  • Bhindi/Lady finger - 150 Grams
  • Oil - 1 Tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds / Jeera - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Asafoetida / Hing - A pinch
  • Capsicum - 1/2 Sliced
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder / Lal mirch powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Coriander powder / Dhaniya powder - 1 Teaspoons
  • Roasted cumin seeds / Jeera powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Dry mango powder / Aamchur - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Water - As required

Instructions

  1. FOR ROASTING GRAM FLOUR :
  2. Dry roast gram flour in a pan for 3 to 4 minutes on low flame. Keep stirring occasionally until the nice aroma begins to rise.
  3. Once done, turn off the flame. Keep it aside.
  4. FOR PREPARING BHINDI CAPSICUM MASALA SABJI :
  5. Cut the top and bottom parts of the bhindi. Then cut it into long slices.
  6. Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, asafoetida, and bhindi. Mix well. Saute it for 1 to 2 minutes on medium flame.
  7. Now add capsicum, salt, and turmeric powder. Mix well and cover the pan with a lid. Cook it for 2 to 3 minutes on medium flame.
  8. Then add roasted gram flour. Mix well. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, roasted cumin seeds powder, and dry mango powder. Mix well.
  9. Add some drops of water. Mix well. Once done, turn off the flame and take it out to a serving bowl.
  10. 'Bhindi Capsicum Masala Sabji' is ready to be served.
