Bread Balls – Without Frying is a wonderful stomach-filling snack.

Bread Balls – Without Frying is a tasty and healthy dish. It requires less oil. Usually, the bread dishes with stuffing/filling needs deep frying. Here, is an innovative dish. Using, the appe pan for bread ball makes less use of oil and easy to cook. It requires vegetables like carrot, beetroot, potato, corn, green peas and with the addition of paneer it becomes protein rich. Thus, it is very healthy and veggies make it crunchy and enjoyable to have munching bites. So, try this recipe and let us know your feedback in the comment section.

Tips and suggestions by the Mom Chef:-

  • Use raw carrot and beetroot for making the filling mixture.
  • Do not add extra oil, while roasting and cooking the bread balls.
  • Squeezing out the water from the bread, helps to evenly wet the bread from both the sides.
  • You can add vegetables of your choice.

Ingredients

  • Potato/Aloo - 3 tablespoon (boiled & grated)
  • Beetroot - 1 tablespoon (grated)
  • Carrot - 1 tablespoon (grated)
  • Corn - 1 tablespoon (boiled)
  • Green peas/Hare matar - 1 tablespoon (boiled)
  • Cottage Cheese/Paneer - 2 tablespoon (grated)
  • Onion/Pyaz - 1 tablespoon (chopped)
  • Coriander leaves - 1 tablespoon (chopped)
  • Fennel seeds/Saunf - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Red chili powder/Lal Mirch - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder and Cumin seeds powder mix - 1 teaspoon
  • Dry Mango Powder/Amchur powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder/Haldi powder - 1/2 to 1 teaspoon
  • Drinking water - as required
  • Oil - as required

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, take the boiled and grated potato, grated beetroot and carrot, boiled corn and green peas. Then add grated paneer, chopped onion and coriander leaves..
  2. Now, put the fennel seeds, salt to taste, red chili powder, coriander powder with cumin seeds powder, dry mango powder, and turmeric powder. Mix with the spoon.
  3. Then, mix evenly with hands. Take a small portion from the mixture and make a small size ball. Heat the appe pan and put drop of oil in each mould.
  4. In a plate take, drinking water, dip the bread from one side and squeeze out the water from it, the whole bread gets evenly wet.
  5. Place the small ball in the bread, from all the sides cover the ball with the bread and press together to make like a stuffed ball.
  6. Place the bread ball slowly in the appe mould. Cook on low flame from one side for 1 minute. Flip with the spoon and cook from all the sides till it become brown in color.
  7. The Bread Balls are ready to be served.
