Brown Bread Sandwich is a quick and easy snack dish.

Brown Bread Sandwich is a yummy and lip-smacking snack dish. This sandwich dish is different in taste, because of it’s spread preparation. The sandwich spread is made using the mint leaves, curd, oregano, green chilies, olive oil and jaggery. Hence, it becomes a sweet and spicy spread. You can serve the sandwich spread as a dip with salad. So, try this recipe and let us know your feedback in the comment section.

  • In a muslin cloth, place the curd and tie the cloth for hanging, so that the water can drain out.
  • You can collect the curd water that is draining and use for dough kneading if you want.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Pudina/Mint leaves - 1 cup
  • Hari mirchi/Green chilies - 2 no
  • Gur/Jaggery as required
  • Oregano as required (optional)
  • Salt as per taste
  • Olive oil - 2 teaspoon (optional)
  • Hung dahi/curd - 2 tablespoon
  • Brown bread slices - 2 no
  • Makhan/Butter as required
  • Cheese slice - 1 no
  • Sliced Kheera/Cucumber - 4 no

Instructions

  1. In a grinder, put the mint leaves, green chilies, jaggery, oregano, olive oil and salt as per taste. Grind it for sometime and add hung curd. Grind together. The sandwich spread is ready.
  2. Take a brown bread slice, apply butter on it's one side, flip and place a cheese slice and sliced cucumber over it.
  3. Take another bread slice, apply the sandwich spread over it. Press the slices together. On a hot pan, place the butter applied bread slice.
  4. Apply butter on the upper portion of the sandwich, once it's toasted from one side, flip and toast it from the other side. Take it out and cut in half in two triangle shapes.
  5. The Brown Bread Sandwich is ready to serve with chutney , sauce or dip.
