Childe Ki Shahi Sabji is a quick and tasty dish. Whenever you don’t have vegetables in your refrigerator, you can easily prepare this tasty sabji. It tastes best with parantha or even plain steamed basmati rice. This sabji is gluten-free as well. So basically it is a tasty and healthy dish. If you like spicy food childe ki sabzi has the potential to be one of your favorites. Ingredients

  • FOR PREPARING CHILDA :
  • Gram flour / Besan - 1 Cup
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder / Lal mirch powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Water - As required
  • Oil - As required
  • FOR PREPARING CHILDE KI SHAHI SABJI :
  • Oil - 2 Tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds / Jeera - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Ginger / Adrakh - 1 Inch grated
  • Green chilli / Hari mirch - 1 Slited
  • Bay Leaf / Tej Patta - 1
  • Cardamom / Elaichi - 2
  • Cinnamon / Dal Chini - 1 Stick
  • Clove / Laung - 1
  • Black peppercorn / Kali mirch - 4 to 5
  • Onion / Pyaaz - 1 Chopped
  • Tomato / Tamatar - 1 Chopped
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Red chili powder / Lal mirchi powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Boiled water - As required
  • Dry fenugreek leaves / Kasuri methi - 1 Teaspoon
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful
  • Childa pieces - Of 1 childa

Instructions

  1. FOR PREPARING CHILDA :
  2. Take gram flour in a bowl. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder. Then add water gradually and prepare a medium consistency batter.
  3. Meanwhile, heat a tawa on a medium flame. Grease it with oil. Add a ladleful of gram flour batter to prepare thick childa.
  4. Cook it from one side only. Now fold it and press it. Transfer it to a plate. Let it cool down. Then cut it into pieces. Keep them aside.
  5. FOR PREPARING ONION-TOMATO PUREE :
  6. Grind tomato and onion in a grinding jar. Keep it aside.
  7. FOR PREPARING CHILDE KI SHAHI SABJI :
  8. Heat oil in a pan. add cumin seeds, ginger, green chilli, bay leaf, cardamom, cinnamon stick, clove, black peppercorn. Mix well.
  9. Then add the onion-tomato puree. Mix well. Then add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and salt. Mix well.
  10. Boil it for 5 to 7 minutes on low flame till oil separates. Now add boiled water. Mix well.
  11. Then add dry fenugreek leaves by rubbing between palms. Mix well. Adjust the consistency of the gravy as per your choice. Then add coriander leaves. Mix well.
  12. Then add prepared childa pieces. Mix well. Then Boil it for 4 to 5 minutes.
  13. Once done, take it out in a serving bowl.
  14. 'Childe Ki Shahi Sabji' is ready to be served.
