Dahi Wale Lasaniya Aloo is a lip-smacking curry for everyone.

Dahi Wale Lasaniya Aloo is a very popular and delicious sabji. The potatoes are cooked in the curd based gravy and have an amazing taste of garlic. This goes well with poori, roti or paratha or even with rice. It is quick and easy to prepare and does not require much preparation. If you have short of time to don’t have to cook much then this is a perfect option. This does not require much preparation and time for cooking. Moreover, you can easily prepare this curry using simple and easily available ingredients. So, try to make this curry at home and enjoy with your family and friends.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • To make any curd based gravy, it is recommended to use ghee/clarified butter. It enhances the flavour of gravy.
  • First of all cook the potatoes then add curd. Make sure to switch off the flame while adding curd.
  • Add pounded garlic to the gravy at last because the taste of raw garlic is just amazing.

Ingredients

  • Potato - 3 chopped
  • Curd - 1 Cup
  • Garlic - 10 to 12 cloves
  • Green Chilli - 1
  • Curry Leaves - few
  • Mustard seeds - 1 Teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 Teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 + 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Ghee/Clarified Butter - 2 Teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan.
  2. Add green chilli, curry leaves, mustard seeds, cumin seeds. Let the seeds crackle.
  3. Add chopped potato, mix well and cook on a low flame.
  4. Add 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder and salt to it. Mix well. Cover and cook the potato until it it completely cooked. Keep stirring in between.
  5. After 5 to 7 minutes, check the potatoes if they are cooked. Add little salt, red chilli powder, 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder. Mix well. Switch off the flame.
  6. Add beaten curd and mix well. Switch on the flame cook on a low flame.
  7. Crush the garlic using mortar and pestle.
  8. Once the gravy is boiled, add crushed garlic. Mix well.
  9. Add water as required and let it boil by covering with a lid.
