Dhaba Style Mirchi Ki Sabji is a lip-smacking, simple, and instant sabji. This is a very simple sabji to prepare as this uses ingredients that are easily available at your home. This sabji uses ingredients like green chilli and some spices which add different flavours to it. This is also a quick sabji to prepare as it does not require any elaborate preparations. Tips and Suggestions by the Chef:-

  • You can use any green chilli that you like or is available to you.
  • You can skip adding the red chilli powder if you do not want the sabji to be spicy.
  • Remember to remove the seeds from the green chillies to remove the spiciness of the chillies.
  • Marinating the chillies and keeping them aside for 5 to 10 minutes helps the spices to get completely absorbed.

Ingredients

  • TO MARINATE THE GREEN CHILLIES-
  • Hari mirchi/ Green chilli - 1 cup chopped
  • Namk/ Salt - as per taste
  • Haldi powder/ Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Nimbu ras/ Lemon juice - 1/2 lemon
  • TO PREPARE THE SABJI-
  • Jeera/ Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Hing/ Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Saunf/ Fennel seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Dhaniya powder/ Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Kashmiri red chilli powder/ Laal mirch powder - as per taste
  • Aamchur powder/ Dry mango powder - 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Remove the seeds from the green chilli.
  2. In a bowl, add green chilli, salt, turmeric, and lemon juice to it. Toss and mix them well and keep it aside for 5 to 10 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, asafoetida, and fennel seeds and sauté them well.
  4. Add green chilli to the pan and sauté it well.
  5. Add salt and turmeric powder to the pan and mix them well with the other ingredients. Cover the pan and let it cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. Add coriander powder and red chilli powder and mix them well.
  7. Add dry mango powder to the pan and mix it well with the other ingredients.
  8. Dhaba Style Mirchi Ki Sabji is ready to be served.
