Gwarphali Ki Sabzi | Traditional Style Gwarphali Sabji is a simple and mouthwatering dish. The addition of ginger, garlic and onion makes this simple sabzi tasty and flavorful. Cluster beans/Gwarphali has many health benefits. They aid in weight loss and diabetes treatment. It improves blood circulation, manages blood pressure and keeps the digestive tract healthy. You can serve it with chapati or paratha for a healthy weekday lunch. So try to make this recipe in your kitchen and share your feedback with us.

Ingredients

  • Cluster beans/ Gwarphali - 1 cup
  • Onion/Pyaz - 2 big, chopped
  • Tomato/Tamatar - 2 big, chopped
  • Cumin seeds/Jeera - 1 teaspoon
  • Roasted cumin seeds/Jeera powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic/Lahsun - 6 to 7, chopped
  • Ginger/Adrak - 1 inch, chopped
  • Green chili/Hari mirch - 2, slit
  • Turmeric powder/Haldi - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili/Lal mirch powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder/Dhaniya powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt/Namak - as per taste
  • Water - as required
  • Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Coriander leaves - for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Wash the cluster beans and cut off their tops and ends. Heat water in a pan. Add salt and haldi powder. Then, place the cluster beans in the water and boil them for 5 minutes. After boiling, strain the water and keep the beans aside.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai/wok. Add cumin seeds, roasted cumin seed powder, chopped garlic, chopped ginger, and chopped onions. Sauté them till the onions turn golden brown in colour.
  3. Then, add chopped tomatoes and slit green chillies. Sauté them for a few minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, take a bowl, add red chilli powder, coriander powder, haldi powder, and salt. Add a little water and mix them well. Pour the masala in the kadai and cook it for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Then, add boiled cluster beans and mix them well. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes. You can cover the kadai with a lid to cook the beans well.
  6. Once cooked, garnish the dish with coriander leaves.
  7. 'Gwarphali Ki Sabzi | Traditional Style Gwarphali Sabji' is ready to be served.
