Hafoos Aam Ki Sabzi is a unique and delicious preparation. 

Hafoos Aam Ki Sabzi is a quick and easy sabzi which uses ripe Alphonso mango. This is an innovative recipe that tastes amazing with roti/paratha. It is a side dish but you can eat it as it is too. This is tangy, sweet and little spicy in taste. It does not require much ingredients and time. You can quickly prepare this sabzi at home. This is a summer delicacy and another way to enjoy the mango. Everyone will love this sabzi because mano is favourite of all. So, try to make this dish at home and let us know your feedback.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • This sabzi tastes great with the Alphonso variety of mango but you can give it a try with some other variety of mango too.
  • The bitterness of fenugreek seeds is balanced with the sweetness of the mango. Fenugreek seeds are good for the stomach and soshould be added to the sabzi.
  • The spiciness can be adjusted according to taste.
  • The mango should not be peeled or deseeded; the sabzi should be made along with its peel and seed.

Ingredients

  • Hafoos Aam/Alphonso Mango - 1
  • Asafoetida/Hing - a pinch
  • Dana Methi/Fenugreek Seeds - 1 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli Powder/Lal Mirch Powder - 1 Teaspoon or to taste
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 Tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coriander leaves - a handful, chopped
  • Oil - 1 Teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut the mango in long pieces.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté fenugreek seeds, and asafoetida in it.
  3. Then add mango along it with its seed and sauté it for a minute.
  4. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well. Add chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
  5. Add 1 cup water and let it boil. Cover and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Once cooked, turnoff the gas and transfer the sabzi to a serving bowl. Garnish it with coriander leaves.
  7. Delicious 'Hafoos Aam Ki Sabzi' is ready to be served.
