Hare Matar Tamatar Ki Sabzi is a lip-smacking curry that goes well with chapati or paratha. This is quick and easy to prepare using easily available ingredients. The good thing is it does not require onion or garlic hence everyone can enjoy this curry. This is a simple yet flavourful preparation. Everyone will love and enjoy this winter delicacy. Ingredients

  • Hare Matar/Green Peas - 1 Cup
  • Tomato - 2 chopped
  • Ginger - 1/2 inch piece grated
  • Green Chilli - 1 chopped
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Coriander Powder - 1 Tablespoon
  • Roasted Cumin powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Kasuri Methi/Fenugreek Leaves - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Asafoetida/Hing - a pinch
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Garam Masala/All spice mix - a pinch
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Oil - 1 Tablespoon
  • Coriander Leaves - as required

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a vessel. Add green peas and little salt. Let it boil until green peas turns soft. Once done, drain the water.
  2. Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan.
  3. Add asafoetida, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, kasuri methi. Saute for few seconds. Add grated ginger and green chilli. Mix and saute.
  4. Add little water so that masala will not burn. Cook the masala for a minute.
  5. Then add chopped tomato, little salt and little water. Mix well. Cover and cook until the tomato turns soft.
  6. Add boiled green peas and mix well. Add water to adjust the consistency. Let it boil for a minute.
  7. Add garam masala and coriander leaves. Cook for a minute then switch off the flame.
  8. Delicious 'Hare Matar Tamatar Ki Sabzi' is ready to be served.
