Homemade Mawa – Instant Recipe

As a NRI we missed so many Indian things, like sweets. I satisfy my traditional sweet craving by making homemade sweets. Sometimes it needs mawa which we get hardly here. Sometimes they are not fresh, sometimes out of stock. So I came out with the solution by making Mawa at home. No fuss no mess only in 10 minutes and tadaaaa, home made fresh Mawa is ready with only three ingredients.

Ingredients

  • Milk powder - 1 cup or 250 grams
  • Full fat milk - 3/4 cup
  • Ghee - 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan and add ghee.
  2. Add milk.
  3. Add milk powder.
  4. Mix well and keep stirring on medium flame.
  5. Make sure it will not stick from bottom so flame should be low and keep stirring regularly. Can change to high flame in between but keep stirring regularly.
  6. When it starts to leave sides and start to become a dough like consistency, Switch off the flame and let it cool
  7. Take it out in air tight container from pan when it cools down completely.
  8. Your homemade mawa is ready to use.
  9. You can store it in freezer for at least 3 months or 7 days in fridge..
