Instant Ragi Dosa is a healthy and delicious dosa.

Instant Ragi Dosa is prepared with ragi millet which is also known as finger millet. The main ingredients are ragi flour and rice flour. Rice flour is used for binding purpose. This dosa has variation in taste and flavour. It is an instant recipe for crisp and thin texture. Ragi is easily digestible and very nutritious. Ragi is a nutrient-dense grain and superfood. It is rich in calcium and extremely beneficial. Thus it aids in keeping the bones strong. Serve ragi dosa with any vegetable dish, sambar or coconut chutney.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:

  • You can replace buttermilk with curd also.
  • Add enough water to get the pouring consistency else your dosa will not be crispy.
  • You can replace rice flour with besan (gram flour).

Ingredients

  • Ragi/finger millet/nachani flour - 1 bowl
  • Rice flour - 1/2 bowl
  • Buttermilk - 1/4 bowl
  • Cumin seeds/jeera - 2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Green chilies - as per taste
  • Ginger paste - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Curry leaves - 1/2 teaspoon finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves - 1 teaspoon finely chopped
  • Onion - 2 tablespoon finely chopped (optional)
  • Water - 1 bowl (as required)
  • Oil - as required
  • Salt - As per taste

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and add ragi and rice flour.
  2. Add buttermilk, cumin seeds, black pepper powder, green chilies, ginger paste, curry leaves, and coriander leaves.
  3. Add onion and salt. Mix it well.
  4. Add water and mix it well to form a lump-free batter. The batter should have flowing consistency.
  5. Heat a pan and grease it with oil.
  6. Pour the dosa batter on the pan and sprinkle oil from the top. Cover it with lid. Keep the flame high and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
  7. Once the dosa roasts to a golden brown, flip over and cook. Keep the flame low.
  8. Transfer the dosa to the serving plate.
  9. Delicious Instant Ragi Dosa is ready to be served.
