Tips and Suggestions by a Mom Chef:

• Instead of tamarind juice, lemon juice can be added after the rasam is completely cooked.
• Soak tamarind and prepare its juice for add-in rasam.
• Jaggery can be added instead of sugar.
• A ladle full of cooked toor dal should be added to make the rasam thick.
• If required/desired, 1 or 2 cloves of garlic can also be added.
