Ingredients

  • Rice / Chawal - 1 Cup
  • Water - As required
  • Bottle Gourd / Lauki - 1 Cup grated
  • Onion / Pyaz - 1 Finely chopped
  • Carrot / Gajar - 1 Grated
  • Coriander Leaves / Hara Dhaniya - A handful
  • Semolina / Sooji - 2 tbsp
  • Ginger-Green Chilli Paste / Adarak-Hari Mirch Paste - 1 tsp
  • Sesame Seeds / Til - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Red Chilli Powder / Lal Mirch Powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder / Haldi Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Fruit Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - As required
  • tsp = teaspoon
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak rice for 30 minutes. Then strain them and transfer it to Philips Mixer Grinding jar. Add a little water and grind it for a few seconds to prepare its medium thick batter.
  2. Take it out in a mixing bowl. Add bottle gourd, onion, carrot, coriander leaves, sooji, ginger-green chilli paste, sesame seeds, salt, red chilli powder, and turmeric powder. Mix well.
  3. Add water gradually to prepare medium thick consistency batter. Then add fruit salt and mix well.
  4. Meanwhile, Heat a pancake tawa. Grease the mold with oil.
  5. Now fill the mold with the prepared batter. Likewise, fill all molds. Add a few drops of oil on it. Cook it on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Then flip it and cook it from another side as well. Once cooked, take it out on the serving plate.
  7. 'Instant Rice Pancakes' is ready to be served with green chutney.
