Italian Veg Frankie | Veg Roll is a lip-smacking snack for all, especially kids.

Italian Veg Frankie | Veg Roll is a mouthwatering, creamy and cheesy snack. It is not only tasty but healthy too as it has veggies in it. The chapati is used to make this roll that makes it healthier. It is a nutritious snack as it contains spinach, corn, tricolour bell pepper. The veggies are cooked with while sauce and then topped with cheese to make the roll. You can easily prepare this snack for your kids as an after-school snack. It is so colourful and delicious that they won’t refuse to eat it. So, try to make this snack at home and let us know your feedback.

  • You can veggies of your choice and availability.
  • You can use bread as well. Apply some butter on the bread and then spread the veggie mixture. Top it with grated cheese and toast it on a pan.

Ingredients

  • Roti - 2
  • Spinach/Palak - 2 Tablespoon finely chopped
  • Onion - 2 Tablespoon finely chopped
  • Tricolour Capsicum - 2 Tablespoon finely chopped
  • Boiled corn - 2 Tablespoon
  • Maida/Refined flour - 1 Tablespoon
  • Milk - 1/2 Cup
  • Mixed herbs - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli flakes - as per taste
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Grated cheese - as required
  • Butter - 1 Tablespoon + for roasting

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan, add butter, and melt it on a medium flame.
  2. Add onion, tricolour capsicum, boiled corn and chopped spinach. Saute it for a minute.
  3. Then, add refined flour and saute it again for a minute. Then add milk to it. Mix well and cook until the milk thickens. Add mixed herbs, red chilli flakes and salt. Mix well and cook until thick. Then, turn off the flame. The filling is ready.
  4. PREPARING THE FRANKIE/ROLL:-
  5. Take a roti and pour the filling in the centre. Top it with grated cheese. Then fold it to make a roll.
  6. Meanwhile, heat a pan.
  7. Roast the frankie/roll by applying some butter. Once it get a crispy texture on both the sides, take it out on a plate.
  8. Delicious 'Italian Veg Frankie | Veg Roll' is ready to be served.
