Jeera Aloo Fry is dry and spicy sabji. The amazing combination and aroma of potatoes and cumin seeds make it one of the most popular Indian dishes. Cumin-based potato curry is usually consumed with roti and paratha, however, it also tastes great as a side dish to puri and rice. It does not involve onions or garlic. Moreover, it is one of the popular bachelor’s curries or sabzi recipes due to its simplicity and taste which can be prepared in less than 10 minutes. Ingredients

  • FOR PREPARING JEERA MASALA :
  • Cumin seeds / Jeera - 2 Teaspoons
  • Dry coriander seeds / Sukha dhaniya - 2 Teaspoons
  • FOR PREPARING JEERA ALOO FRY :
  • Oil - 1 Tablespoon
  • Mustard seeds / Rai - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds / Jeera - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Green chilli / Hari mirchi - 1 Slited
  • Ginger / Adrakh - 1 Inch grated
  • Curry leaves / Curry patta - A few
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Red chili powder / Lal mirchi powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Coriander powder / Dhaniya powder - 1/2 Teaspoon (optional)
  • Roasted cumin seeds powder / Jeera powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Black salt / Kala namak - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Dry mango powder / Aamchur - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful + for garnishing
  • Boiled potato / Aloo - 4 chopped
  • Lemon juice - Of 1/2 Lemon.

Instructions

  1. Dry grind cumin seeds and dry coriander seeds in a grinding jar. Keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chilli, ginger, curry leaves, and prepared dry masala. Mix well.
  3. Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, roasted cumin seeds powder, black salt, and dry mango powder. Mix well.
  4. Then add salt. Mix well. Now add coriander leaves. Mix well.
  5. Now add boiled potato. Mix well. Once done, turn off the flame. Add lemon juice. Mix well. Garnish it with coriander leaves.
  6. 'Jeera Aloo Fry' is ready to be served.
