Lauki Manchurian | Veg Manchurian Dry is a yummy and healthy snack dish.

Lauki Manchurian | Veg Manchurian Dry is an innovative dish. It is a wonderful way to introduce lauki/bottle gourd in the diet. From kids to adult everyone will love this dish. While preparing this dish, adding the vegetables like capsicum and onion, makes it crunchy. The soya sauce and chili sauce make it spicy and palatable. This is a dry form of veg manchurian dish. Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • Do not add water to the batter mixture, as the lauki/bottle gourd has enough water content for binding the  balls.
  • Instead of ginger-garlic paste, you can add chopped ginger and chopped garlic.
  • You can add colored capsicums also.
  • For making this dish with gravy base, add water-cornflour mixture, as per your requiement.

Ingredients

  • Bottle Gourd/Lauki - 1 cup finely chopped
  • Gram flour/Besan - 1 tablespoon
  • Rice flour - 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds/Jeera - 1 pinch
  • Salt - to taste
  • Red Chili Powder/Lal Mirch Powder - as per taste
  • Green Chili/Hari Mirch - as per taste chopped
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil - for frying
  • Oil - 2 tablespoon
  • Green chili/Hari mirch - 1 no chopped
  • Onion/Pyaz - 1 no diced
  • Green Capsicum/Shimla Mirch - 1 no diced
  • Chili sauce - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
  • Soy sauce - 1/4 to 1/2 teaspooon

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, take the chopped lauki/bottle gourd. Now, put gram flour, rice flour, cumin seeds, salt to taste. Then add red chili powder. Mix with the spoon.
  2. The red chili powder is added so that it adds to the color of the manchurian. Now, put ginger-garlic paste as per taste and mix well to make a thick batter.
  3. Take a small portion from the batter, and make small balls with the hands. Make more balls. Meanwhile heat the oil.
  4. Fry the manchurian balls from all the sides on medium to high flame till they are dark brown in color. The lauki manchurian balls are ready.
  5. In a separate pan, heat 2 tablespoon of oil. Then add about one chopped green chili, about 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste, and mix well. As the tempering crackles, add the diced onion and green capsicum.
  6. Saute the onion and capsicum well on medium to high flame for 1 to 2 minutes, so that the onion and capsicum are crunchy. Now, add salt, chili sauce and soya sauce. Mix well and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
  7. The Lauki Manchurian | Veg Manchurian Dry is ready to serve.
