Leftover Rice Tikki | Bache Hue Chawal Ki Tikki is a simple and tangy snack recipe. It is easy to prepare from leftover rice, chole, potato, and spices. Mostly, tikki is a deep-fried snack but here we shallow fried it to make it more healthy. First, we combined the ingredients and mashed it properly, gave a shape, and shallowly fried. Within three simple steps, the perfect recipe of tikki is prepared. Serve it with ketchup or chutney or any dip or you can also have it with your hot beverages.   • Here, we used boiled chole but you can use any leftover sabji or dal or veggies.
  • Mash the mixture properly with the hands or spoon.
  • Adjust the spices as per your requirement and taste.
  • You can give it a shape of your choice or you can also use the shapper or cutter.
  • Here, we shallow fried the tikki but you can also deep fry or air fry it.
  • You can also use this tikki for dahi tikki chaat or burger or frankie.
  • To make it more crispy cook it on low to medium flame or also you can add bread crumbs or sooji in it.

Ingredients

  • Leftover rice - 1 cup
  • Boiled chole/ chickpea - 1/2 cup
  • Boiled potato - 1 small-sized
  • Salt - as required
  • Red chili powder - as required
  • Turmeric powder - a pinch
  • Roasted cumin seeds powder - as required
  • Chaat masala - as required
  • Coriander leaves - as required finely chopped
  • Oil - as required

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and add rice, chole, and potato. Mash it properly.
  2. Add salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala, and coriander leaves. Mix it properly.
  3. Now, apply some oil on hand and take a small-sized portion from the mixture. Give it a round shape and flattened it. Repeat this process until the mixture completes.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and place tikki on it. Place as much tikkis as your pan size but do not overcrowd it.
  5. Allow it to cook on low to medium flame. Cook it until it becomes golden and crisp.
  6. Apply some oil over and at the edges of tikkis and flip it to cook from another side.
  7. Cook it properly from both sides and flip it again and again till it becomes golden in color and crisp. Turn off the flame.
  8. Delicious Leftover Rice Tikki | Bache Hue Chawal Ki Tikki is ready to be served.
