Leftover Roti Vegetable Tikki is a simple and easy snack recipe. You can prepare it from leftover roti/chapati, onion, boiled potato, rice flour, and some spices. You can make it at any time for lunch, or dinner, or as a snack whenever you have leftover roti. It goes well with curd or tomato ketchup. Ingredients

  • Leftover Roti / Bachi Hui Roti - 2
  • Boiled Potato / Uble Hue Aloo - 1 Peeled and grated
  • Fenugreek Leaves / Hari Methi - 1 Cup chopped
  • Onion / Pyaz - 1 Finely chopped
  • Rice Flour / Chawal Ka Aata - 1 tbsp
  • Ginger / Adrak - 1 Inch grated
  • Green Chilli / Hari Mirch - 2 to 3 Finely chopped
  • Curd / Dahi - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Red Chilli Powder / Lal Mirch Powder - 1 tsp
  • All Spice Mix Powder / Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander-Cumin Seeds Powder / Dhania-Jeera Powder - 1 tsp
  • Sesame Seeds / Til - As required
  • Oil - For shallow frying + For greasing
  • tsp = teaspoon
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Take leftover roti pieces in a grinding jar. Grind it for a few seconds.
  2. Take it out to a bowl. Add boiled potato, fenugreek leaves, onion, rice flour, ginger, green chilli, curd, salt, red chilli powder, all spice mix powder, coriander-cumin seeds powder, and 1 tsp of sesame seeds. Mix well.
  3. Now grease your palms with oil. Take a small ball-sized portion of the mixture. Press it with your hands and prepare flattened tikki. Add sesame seeds on it. Likewise, prepare all tikkis.
  4. Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan for shallow frying over medium flame. Place the prepared tikki in a pan. Shallow fry it on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Flip it and shallow fry it from another side on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes until they become crispy and golden brown from both sides.
  6. Once done, take it out on a serving plate.
  7. 'Leftover Roti Vegetable Tikki' is ready to be served.
