Masala Milk | Kesar Doodh | Saffron Milk is an easy, wintertime drink that puts the season’s best ingredients to good use. The dry fruit powder once blended into the milk gives an impressive texture. This milk has a creamy texture with fragrant tones providing comforting goodness that only the dates can. It makes this milk a top-class drink, garnished with flaked almonds, pistachios, and saffron.   • If using low fat milk, boil it for 15 to 20 minutes more.
  • Turmeric powder can be added to milk instead of kesar.

Ingredients

  • Full Fat Milk / Doodh - 500 ml. + As required
  • Saffron / Kesar - 9 to 10 Strands + For garnishing
  • Mix Dry Fruits Powder (Cashews, Almonds, Pistachio, Walnuts) - 2 tsp
  • Dates / Khajur - 1/4 Cup Seedless
  • Luck Warm Water - 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Cardamom Powder / Elaichi Powder - 1 tsp
  • Dry Fruits Flakes (Almonds And Pistachio) - For garnishing
  • tsp = teaspoon
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Soak dates in luck warm water for 30 minutes. Then grind it for few a seconds and prepare its paste. Keep it aside.
  2. Soak saffron in 1 to 2 tbsp of milk for 30 minutes. Keep it aside.
  3. Boil milk in a pan. Boil it for 5 to 7 minutes on medium flame. Keep stirring occasionally. Allow the milk to simmer.
  4. Add soaked saffron and mix well. Boil it for 2 to 3 minutes. Keep stirring occasionally.
  5. Then add dry fruit powder and mix well. Now add the prepared dates paste and cardamom powder. Mix well. Boil it for 2 to 3 minutes. Keep stirring occasionally.
  6. Once done, turn off the flame and take it out in a serving glass. Garnish it with dry fruit flakes and saffron.
  7. 'Masala Milk | Kesar Doodh | Saffron Milk' is ready to be served.
