A very famous travel special meal is ‘Moong Dal Khakhra | Korma Khakhra’ from Rajasthani cuisine. It is a very healthy and tasty snack which require only 2 ingredients. This is very simple and easy to prepare. The good thing is you can store the khakhra for up to 10 days without any refrigeration. This protein-rich snack item has a crispy texture. In Rajasthan, it is also called as Moongadi Ka khakhra or Korma Khakhra or Korme Ka Khakhra. Korma means crushed dal. This recipe used crushed moong dal/green gram along with whole wheat flour and very few spices. You can easily prepare this khakhra for your tea-time snack. Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-
- Crush the moong dal/green gram coarsely. Then soak it in water. Drain the water completely before kneading the dough. Make a stiff dough for khakhra.
- Roast the khakhra on a low flame only and by pressing with spatula. This will make the khakhra crispier.
- You can store the khakhra in an airtight container for up to 10 days.
