Moong Dal Tikki is so simple, easy, healthy, and delicious recipe ever.

Moong Dal Tikki certainly satisfies the criteria of being healthy as well as yummy. Due to the simplicity of this recipe, it is even more tempting to try and devour. There are plenty of health benefits of green moong, which include:  weight control, lowers blood pressure, a rich source of protein, and iron. This recipe is very quick, the only time that is consumed is in the soaking of the moong dal. This Moong Dal Tikki is prepared with soaked moong dal, potatoes, coriander leaves, onions, ginger-green chili paste, and spices. Ingredients

  • Green Gram/ Green Moong/ Whole Moong - 1 bowl
  • Potato - 1 medium-sized boiled
  • Garam masala/ mixed spices - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Dry mango powder/ amchur powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger paste - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Green chili paste - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Onion - 1 small-sized finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves - 1/2 teaspoon finely chopped
  • Chaat masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - as required
  • White/ multigrain/ brown bread crumbs - 4 tablespoons (as required)
  • Oil - as required for shallow fry

Instructions

  1. Take green moong in a bowl and wash it properly. Soak it for 6 to 7 hours in the water.
  2. Further, boil it in a covered vessel for 10 minutes. If you are using a pressure cooker then boil it until 2 to 3 whistles.
  3. Take a bowl, add boiled green moong, potato, garam masala, amchur powder, ginger paste , green chili paste, onion, coriander leaves, chaat masala, salt, and bread crumbs. Mix it well.
  4. Further, heat a pan and grease it with oil.
  5. Divide the mixture into small or medium shaped tikki. You can apply some oil on your palms while giving the shape to the tikki.
  6. Gently place the tikki and begin to pan-fry it. If your pan is big in size then you can place more than one tikki to it.
  7. When the base becomes crispy and golden, gently flip each tikki with a spatula. Keep the flame low to medium.
  8. Fry the other side till crispy and golden. You can gently flip once or twice more till the tikki becomes golden and crisp evenly.
  9. Delicious Moong Dal Tikki is ready to be served.
