Palak Paneer | Restaurant Style Palak Paneer is a very famous and most lovable curry.

Palak Paneer | Restaurant Style Palak Paneer is a delicious and very healthy curry. The paneer cubes are cooked in the palak/spinach, onion-tomato based gravy. This goes well with roti, paratha or even with rice. This is a very popular curry in the restaurant menus and everyone enjoys this curry a lot. Moreover, this is very easy to prepare with easily available ingredients and does not require many efforts. Now, you can easily prepare this curry at home by following this simple recipe. Ingredients

  • Paneer/Cottage Cheese cube - 200 grams
  • Palak/Spinach - 1 bunch
  • Onion - 1, finely chopped
  • Tomato - 2, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 3 cloves crushed
  • Ginger - 1/2 inch piece, grated
  • Green chilli - 1
  • Cumin/Jeera seeds - 1 Teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder/Lal mirch powder - 1/2 Teaspoon or to taste
  • Coriander powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Garam Masala/All spice mix - a pinch
  • Kasuri Methi/Dry Fenugreek Leaves - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Homemade cream/malai - 2 Tablespoon
  • Cashew nuts/Kaju - 6 to 7
  • Black salt - to taste
  • Sugar - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Ghee/Clarified Butter - 2 Tablespoon

Instructions

  1. In a pressure cooke, pressure cook washed spinach, green chilli, cashew nuts, little salt, and sugar, with 1 glass of water. Pressure cook it for 1 whistle then turn off the flame. Let it cool completely. Then, grind the mixture to a smooth paste.
  2. Toss well paneer/cottage chesse cubes and turmeric powder in a bowl. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, heat ghee in a kadai.
  4. Add cumin seeds, grated ginger, and crushed garlic. Sauté for a few seconds.
  5. Add finely chopped onion and sauté it on a medium flame until translucent.
  6. Then, add finely chopped tomato. Cover and cook until tomato gets softened.
  7. Add red chilli powder, and coriander powder. Cover and cook for 2 minutes.
  8. Then, add pureed spinach and bring to boil. Cover and let it cool for 2 to 3 minutes.
  9. Crush the kasuri methi between the palms and add to the kadai. Add Garam masala, black salt, marinated paneer cubes, homemade cream/malai and mix well. Cover it with lid and let it cook for a minute then turn off the gas.
  10. Delicious 'Palak Paneer | Restaurant Style Palak Paneer' is ready to be served.
