Paneer Chilla is a popular and tasty flavored pancakes recipe.

Paneer Chilla is so quick, and unique light recipe. The main ingredients here – besan/gram flour and grated (paneer and cheese) stuffing. Besan combined with carrot and coriander makes excellent savory pancakes. It can be served as a morning breakfast or evening snack or lunch or dinner and is also served with your favorite hot beverage. Paneer Chilla is a very popular and traditional Indian recipe alternative for heavy paranthas. Moreover, It is good for everyone as it supplies all the required nutrients. Ingredients

  • Besan/gram flour- 2 tablespoon
  • Grated carrot - 1 tablespoon (optional)
  • Coriander leaves - 1 tablespoon finely chopped (optional)
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Red chili powder - as required
  • Dry mint powder - a pinch
  • Fennel Seed/saumph - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - 3/4 cup (as per consistency)
  • Oil/ghee - 1 teaspoon
  • Grated paneer - as requird
  • Grated cheese - as required

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl, add besan, carrot, coriander leaves, salt, red chili powder, dry mint powder, and fennel seeds.
  2. Add water and mix it with whisk. The consistency of batter should be very thin liquid consistency. Whisk it properly so that no lumps remains.
  3. Now, heat the pan and grease it with oil.
  4. Gently, spread chilla batter on it. Also spread oil around the corners.
  5. Allow to cook on low to medium flame for a minute or until the bottom is cooked completely.
  6. Now flip gently without breaking the chilla. Press gently, make sure the chilla is cooked from both sides.
  7. Fry till it turns solid, crispy and golden brown.
  8. Now, top it with grated paneer and cheese, between the chilla.
  9. Once the chilla is cooked properly, cover the filling with chilla.
  10. Delicious Paneer Chilla is ready to be served.
