Peanut Chutney | Mungfali Chutney is a delicious side dish for all.

Peanut Chutney | Mungfali Chutney is a mouthwatering chutney goes well with dosa, idli, paddu. This requires very few ingredients and gets ready in just 5 minutes efforts. This a delicious chutney for all the South Indian meals you can have. This has tanginess from tamarind, creaminess of peanuts, crunch from an onion. This is very easy to prepare too. So, try to make this chutney at home and enjoy with your family.

This tasty chutney was prepared by Roopa Naikji from Shimoga, Karnataka ( a visually challenged mom with 40 per cent of eyesight).

Tips and Suggestions by the Chef:-

  • You can make it without onion and garlic too.
  • Adjust the green chilli as per the taste.
  • Do not overcook the onion. Keep it crunchy.

Ingredients

  • Peanut/Mungfali - 1 Cup roasted
  • Green Chilli - 2 to 3 or as per taste
  • Coriander leaves - a handful
  • Garlic - 5 to 6
  • Tamarind - as per taste
  • Salt - as per taste
  • INGREDIENTS FOR TADKA:-
  • Oil - 1 Teaspoon
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Onion - 1 to 2 Tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Take a jar and add roasted peanuts, green chilli, coriander leaves, tamarind, salt. Grind it to make a smooth paste. Add water if required for grinding.
  2. PREPARING THE TADKA:- Take a pan, add oil and heat it. Add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
  3. Add curry leaves and chopped onion. Saute it on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes. Then switch off the gas. Pour the ground chutney to the pan. Mix well.
  4. Yummy 'Peanut Chutney | Mungfali Chutney' is ready to be served.
