Peas Rice With Pyaaz Ki Kadhi is a delicious meal for all.

Peas Rice With Pyaaz Ki Kadhi is a mouthwatering preparation. The rice and peas cooked together and served with delicious pyaaz ki kadhi. The kadhi has a flavour of cloves and cinnamon with onion. This is a very famous kadhi of Gujarat. This meal is a very quick meal when you are in a hurry. This is a lifesaver lunch and dinner option. Moreover, this is a complete meal in itself and is very healthy too. So, try to make this quick meal for your family and enjoy.

Tips and Suggestion by Mom Chef:-

  • You can add turmeric powder and heeng/asafoetida in the kadhi.
  • Adjust the consistency of the kadhi as per your requirements. Add hot water if you require little thin kadhi.
  • Use minimum1 tablespoon besan/gram flour for 1 cup curd to prepare the kadhi.

Ingredients

  • INGREDIENTS FOR PEAS RICE:-
  • Rice - 1 Cup
  • Peas - 1/2 Cup
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Water - 3 Cup
  • INGREDIENTS FOR PYAAZ KI KADHI:-
  • Curd - 1 Cup
  • Besan/Gram flour - 2 Tablespoon
  • Onion - 1 chopped
  • Carrot - 2 Tablespoon chopped
  • Green chilli - 2 or as per taste
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Cloves - 2
  • Cinnamon - 1 stick
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Black Pepper powder - as per taste
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Ghee - 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. PREPARING THE PEAS RICE:- Wash and soak rice in water for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Take a vessel, add 3 cups of water and bring it to a boil. Add soaked rice and peas along with little salt. Boil it until the rice gets cooked.
  3. Once cooked, drain the excess water using a sieve. Keep aside.
  4. PREPARING THE PYAAZ KI KADHI:-
  5. Take a bowl and add curd, besan/gram flour, salt, black pepper, water. Mix well using hand blender or hand beater.
  6. Heat a pan and add ghee.
  7. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  8. Add chopped onion, carrot and curry leaves and green chilli. Saute it for a minute. Do not over cook.
  9. Add curd mixture to it. Add little salt if required. Keep the flame on high. Mix well and cook it for 2 to 3 minutes. Adjust the consistency as per the requirement. Add hot water if you require little thin kadhi. Once cooked, switch off the gas.
  10. Yummy 'Peas Rice With Pyaaz Ki Kadhi' is ready to be served with papad and achar.
