Shahi Kadai Paneer is a restaurant-style extremely delicious side dish. 

Shahi Kadai Paneer is a spicy colorful sabji with easily available ingredients. It is easy to prepare within no time at your home. Moreover, the flavor of spicy gravy with sauteed vegetables gives a wonderful texture and amazing taste. You can serve it to your guest on special occasions with roti, naan, or paratha. In addition, you can prepare this side dish with only onion, capsicum, tomato, paneer, and some spices. So try this lip-smacking curry at your home and enjoy it with your friends and family. Tips and suggestions by the Mom Chef:

  • Garam masala can be added instead of kadai paneer masala.
  • Ginger-green chilli paste should be added at the end for its nice flavor.

Ingredients

  • FOR SAUTEED VEGETABLES :
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Onion / pyaz - 2 Diced
  • Capsicum / Shimla mirch - 1 Diced
  • Cottage cheese / Paneer - 1 Cup diced
  • Tomato / Tamatar - 1 Chopped
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Red chili powder / Lal mirchi powder - 1 tsp
  • Kadai paneer masala - 1 tsp
  • FOR PREPARING SHAHI KADAI PANEER :
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds / Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Cardamom / Elaichi - 2
  • Cloves / Laung - 2
  • Cinnamon / Dal chini - 1 Stick
  • Bay leaf / Tej patta - 1
  • Whole black peppercorns / Kali mirch - 2 to 3
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Red chili powder / Lal mirchi powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder / Dhaniya powder - 1 tsp
  • Kadai paneer masala - 1 tsp
  • Tomato puree / Tamatar ki puree - Of 2 to 3 Tomatoes
  • Ginger-green chilli paste / Adarak-hari mirchi ki paste - 1 tsp
  • Dry fenugreek leaves / Kasuri methi - 1 tsp
  • Fresh cream / Homemade malai - 1 tsp
  • Water - As required
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful + For garnishing
  • tsp = teaspoon
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. FOR SAUTEED VEGETABLES AND PANEER :
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add onion, capsicum, and paneer. Mix well. Saute it for 2 to 3 minutes on medium flame. Stir it occasionally.
  3. Now add tomato, salt, red chilli powder, kadai paneer masala, Mix well and saute it for 1 to 2 minutes on medium flame. Once done, turn off the flame and keep it aside.
  4. FOR PREPARING SHAHI KADAI PANEER :
  5. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon stick, bay leaf, whole black peppercorns, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, kadai paneer masala, and tomato puree. Mix well.
  6. Boil it for 2 to 3 minutes on medium flame. Now add ginger-green chilli paste. Mix well.
  7. Further, add dry fenugreek leaves by rubbing between your palms, and fresh cream. Mix well for 1 to 2 minutes.
  8. Then add little water and coriander leaves. Mix well. Then add the sauteed vegetables and paneer. Add salt and mix well.
  9. Garnish it with coriander leaves. Take it out to the serving bowl.
  10. 'Shahi Kadai Paneer' is ready to be served.
