 Shahi Paneer Makhanwala is a delicious dish from Punjabi cuisine.

The name of this dish is Shahi Paneer Makhanwala, so this recipe is full of richness from cashew, cream, and paneer. It is very easy to make and tasty too. In addition, The soft paneer cubes served with spicy onion tomato gravy flavored with kasuri methi are simply lip-smacking. This goes well with Indian flatbreads like roti and chapati. Ingredients

  • FOR PREPARING THE PUREE :
  • Butter - 1 Tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds / Jeera - 1 Teaspoon
  • Onion / Pyaz - 1 Chopped
  • Ginger / Adrakh - 2 Inch chopped
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Tomato / Tamatar - 2 Chopped
  • Dry red chilli / Sukhi lal mirch - 2
  • Cashew / Kaju - 8 to 10
  • Dry fenugreek leaves / Kasuri methi - 1 Teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder / Lal mirch powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Coriander powder / Dhaniya powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • All spice mix powder / Garam masala - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Water - As required
  • FOR PREPARING SHAHI PANEER :
  • Butter - 1 Tablespoon
  • Oil - 1 Tablespoon
  • Ginger / Adrakh - 1 Inch sliced
  • Green chilli / Hari mirchi - 2 Slited
  • Cottage cheese / Paneer - 1 Cup (cubes) + 1 Tablespoons grated
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Red chilli powder / Lal mirch powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Water - As required
  • Dry fenugreek leaves / Kasuri methi - 1 Teaspoon
  • Homemade fresh cream / Malai - 2 Teaspoons
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful

Instructions

  1. FOR PREPARING THE PUREE :
  2. Heat butter in a pan. Add cumin seeds and onion. Mix well and add ginger, salt, and tomatoes. Saute it for 2 to 3 minutes on a high flame.
  3. Then add dry red chillies, cashews, and dry fenugreek leaves. Mix well. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and all spice mix powder. Mix well and add little water.
  4. Now cover the pan with a lid and cook it for 7 to 8 minutes on medium flame.
  5. Then turn off the flame. Let it cool down. Grind it for a few seconds. Keep it aside.
  6. FOR PREPARING SHAHI PANEER :
  7. Heat butter and oil in a pan. Add ginger, green chilli, paneer, salt, and red chilli powder. Mix well.
  8. Then add the ground puree and little water. Mix well and add dry fenugreek leaves by rubbing between palms.
  9. Now add fresh cream. Mix well for 1 minute. Add grated paneer and garnish it with coriander leaves.
  10. Once done, turn off the flame. Take it out to a serving bowl.
  11. 'Shahi Paneer Makhanwala' is ready to be served.
