Silbatte wali Lehsun ki Chutney | Grindstone Chutney is a simple and quick recipe. It has a strong flavor with a sharp taste. This chutney recipe is unique and is made with just garlic cloves and red chilies. It is basically a lifesaver when you are running out of a coconut, tomatoes, or any other vegetables. This chutney was prepared on the grindstone, which is an old method to prepare the chutneys. Try to prepare it at home and enjoy it with friends and family. This recipe was prepared by a lovely Grand Mom – Chandu ji – A 73-year-old Grandmother from Rajasthan.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • For a fresh flavour of the chutney, the garlic must be fresh as well.
  • Ginger or coriander leaves or even jaggery can also be added to get a combination of sweet and spicy taste.
  • Temper it and saute for a few minutes, this would help to increase the shelf life of garlic chutney.
  • If you want to store chutney for a longer time than avoid adding water in it.

Ingredients

  • Dry Sabud Laal mirch/ Whole Red chili - 10 to 12
  • Namak/ Salt - as required
  • Sabud Dhaniya/ Coriander seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
  • lehsun/Garlic - 7 to 8 cloves
  • Water - as required
  • Pudina/ Mint leaves - a fistful

Instructions

  1. Soak the whole red chilli for 2 minutes and then drain out its water.
  2. Place the soaked red chilli on the grindstone and grind it to a fine paste.
  3. Add salt and coriander seeds to it and grind it again.
  4. Now, add garlic and grind it for a minute.
  5. Add some water and mint leaves. Grind it until it becomes a fine paste.
  6. Delicious ‘Silbatte wali Lehsun ki Chutney | Grindstone Chutney’ is ready to be served.
