Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:

  • You can add any vegetables available with you.
  • To prepare this dish use boiled soya chunks in salted water for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • You can use frozen peas also.
  • Use peanuts instead of cashew.
  • If you want you can replace soya chunks with paneer.
  • You can add color bell peppers also.

Ingredients

  • Oil - 2 Tablespoons
  • Cumin Seeds / Jeera - 1 Teaspoon
  • Mustard Seeds / Rai - 1 Teaspoon ( optional )
  • Turmeric Powder / Haldi - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Asafoetida / Hing - 1 Pinch
  • Slitted Green chilies / Hari Mirchi - As Per Your Taste
  • Sliced Onion / Pyaz - 2
  • Tomatoes / Tamatar - 2 Chopped
  • Salt - As per Taste
  • Red Chili Powder / Lal Mirch Powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Soya Chunks / Soya Vadi - As Required
  • Peas / Matar - 1/4 Cup
  • Roasted Cashew / Kaju - 6-7 Chopped ( Optional )
  • Coriander Powder / Dhaniya Powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • All Spice Mix / Garam Masala - 1 Teaspoon
  • Cooked Rice - 1 Cup
  • Butter / Makhan - 1 Tablespoon
  • Coriander Leaves / Hara Dhaniya - For Garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, turmeric powder, asafoetida, green chilies and mix it well.
  2. Now add onion and saute it. Add tomatoes mix them well then add salt, red chili powder and mix it well.
  3. Add soya chunks ( use boiled soya chunks in salted water for 2 to 3 minutes )and mix it well.then add peas,
  4. Then add peas, roasted cashew and roast it for 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Add coriander powder, all spice mix. then add rice and mix it well.
  6. Add butter and coriander leaves in the last.
  7. Soya Vadi Pulav | Soya Chunks Pulav is ready to serve.
