Tawa Idli | Instant Rava Idli is an instant healthy breakfast.

Tawa Idli | Instant Rava Idli is a nice colorful, soft, and spicy dish. This is a healthy snack because it is loaded with vegetables. You can prepare it with easily available ingredients from your kitchen. It goes well with Green chutney or tomato ketchup. You can prepare it for snacks, dinner, lunch, or as a party starter or appetizer for special occasions. Moreover, it looks very nice with colorful veggies. In addition, it is a nutritious dish using semolina, curd, tricolor bell peppers, coriander leaves, ginger, green chilli, and some spices.   • You can prepare this idli on a regular tawa or appe pan instead of pancake tawa.
  • The batter consistency should be thick.
  • The idli should be flipped after the bubbles appear on it.

Ingredients

  • Semolina / Sooji / Rava - 1 Cup
  • Curd / Dahi - 1 Cup whisked
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Cumin seeds / Jeera - 1/2 tsp
  • Tricolor bell pepper / Capsicum - 1/2 Cup diced
  • Onion / Pyaz - 1/2 Diced
  • Ginger / Adrakh - 1 Inch finely chopped
  • Green chilli / Hari mirchi - 1 Finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful
  • Fruit salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - As required
  • Mustard seeds / Rai - 1/4 tsp
  • Peri-peri powder - As required
  • tsp = teaspoon
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Take semolina in a bowl. Add curd and salt. Mix well and prepare a medium thick consistency batter. Let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Now add cumin seeds, tricolor bell peppers, onion, ginger, green chilli, and coriander leaves. Mix well.
  3. Then Add fruit salt to the batter. Mix well.
  4. Meanwhile, Heat a pancake tawa. Add some drops of oil. Then add mustard seeds.
  5. Now fill the mold with prepared idli batter. Sprinkle peri-peri powder on it. Likewise, fill all molds.
  6. Cover the pan with a lid. Cook it on a low flame for 2 to 3 minutes till bubbles appear on it.
  7. Then flip it and cook it from another side as well. Once cooked, take it out on the serving plate.
  8. 'Tawa Idli | Instant Rava Idli' is ready to be served.
