You just need semolina, green chillies, curry leaves along with some spices for tadka. This gets ready within 10 minutes. The good thing is it does not uses onion hence everyone can enjoy it. Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-
- First, dry roast the semolina/rava for 2 to 3 minutes. You can store this roasted semolina for a longer time.
- You can add chopped onion if you want.
- Sugar gives a nice taste to the upma so, do add it.
- For the perfect consistency of the upma, add 2 to 2 & 1/2 cup water.
- Remove the seeds of the slit green chili.
- You can add vegetables of your choice to the upma.
- The amount of water should be 2 to 3 times the amount of sooji taken, for cooking the upma.
