Tomato Chutney | Tamatar Chutney is a lip-smacking dish for everyone. 

Don’t have time to prepare a side dish for your meal. Then ‘Tomato Chutney | Tamatar Chutney’ is a perfect option for your meal. This goes well with almost all the dishes like dal-rice, paratha, stuffed paratha. This is quick and super easy to make. It tastes amazing and has little sweet, tangy taste. You and all family members will love this chutney. If you do not have any veggie at home or don’t have time to cook more then this is a good option. Ingredients

  • Tamatar/ Tomato - 3 medium sized
  • Hari Mirch/ Green chilli - 1 chopped
  • Adrak/ Ginger - 1/2 inch pieces grated
  • Curry Patta/ Curry Leaves - few
  • Hing/ Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Sarso/ Mustard seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Kalonji/ Onion seeds - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Namak/ Salt - as per taste
  • Kala Namak/ Black salt - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Laal mirch powder/ Red chilli powder - 1/2 Teaspoon or as per taste
  • Jeera powder/ Cumin powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Garam Masala/ All spice mix - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Amchur/ Dry Mango Powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Cheeni/ Sugar - 1 Teaspoon
  • Tel/ Oil - 1 to 2 Tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Grind the tomato using a grinder.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai. Then add asafoetida.
  3. Add mustard seeds, kalonji/onion seeds, green chilli, grated ginger, and curry leaves. Sauté for a few seconds.
  4. Then, add tomato puree, mix well, and cook on a medium flame.
  5. Add salt, black salt, red chilli powder, cumin powder, garam masala, and dry mango powder. Mix well and cook on a medium to high flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Add sugar, mix well, and cook.
  7. Once it is boiled and the oil leaves the sides, turn off the flame.
  8. Delicious 'Tomato Chutney | Tamatar Chutney' is ready to be served.
