Vanilla Wheat Cake | Eggless Vanilla Cake is soft and spongy.

Vanilla Wheat Cake | Eggless Vanilla Cake has the main ingredient as whole wheat flour. Along with whole wheat flour, it has curd, milk, sugar, vegetable oil, baking soda, and vanilla essence. It is a healthier option and a great treat to vegetarians. This spongy cake needs a few minutes of effort. Everyone will love this, especially kids. Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • If the batter is thick, you can add more milk to it.
  • If you do not have butter paper then grease the baking tray with oil/butter/clarified butter and dust it with whole wheat flour. Remove excess flour from the baking tray by tapping it.
  • Depending upon the oven, it may take 20 to 25 minutes or more for baking. Always check after 20 minutes with a toothpick. Insert a toothpick in the center of the cake, if it comes out clean then the cake is done else keep it for 5 to 7 minutes more.

Ingredients

  • Whole Wheat Flour / Gehu Ka Aata - 1 Cup
  • Granulated Sugar - 1/2 Cup
  • Curd / Dahi - 1/2 Cup (At Room Temperature)
  • Milk / Doodh - 1/2 Cup Or As Required (At Room Temperature)
  • Vegetable Oil - 1/4 Cup
  • Vanilla Essence - 1 Teaspoon
  • Baking Soda / Meetha Soda - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • For Greasing:- Oil /Butter/ Clarified Butter - As Required
  • For Dusting:- Whole Wheat Flour - As Required

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven for 10 minutes in 180 degree Celsius.
  2. Meanwhile, take sugar, curd, vegetable oil, vanilla essence in a mixing bowl. Whisk them till light and incorporate together till sugar melts.
  3. Now add sieved whole wheat flour and baking soda.
  4. Then add milk slowly mixing the mixture by cut and fold method so that the batter becomes fluffy. The consistency should be thick and flowing. Add more milk if required.
  5. Take a baking tray. Put butter paper and grease it with oil.
  6. Pour batter to the greased baking tray. Tap the baking tray gently to remove air and to level it.
  7. Now keep the baking tray in the preheated oven for 20 minutes in 180 degree Celsius.
  8. After 20 minutes, check the cake by inserting a toothpick in the center of the cake. If the toothpick comes out clean then cake is done else keep it for 5 to 7 minutes more.
  9. Again check with toothpick. Once done, take the baking tray out of the oven, let it cool at room temperature.
  10. Now, scrape from sides of the baking tray and take out the cake in a plate.
