Veg Frankie | Mumbai Famous Veg Frankie is a mouth-watering snack from Mumbai. 

Veg Frankie | Mumbai Famous Veg Frankie is a delicious snack. This is very easy to prepare using easily available ingredients. Kids and all family members will love this Frankie. You can serve this as an evening snack or a light dinner. Moreover, this a healthy version of Frankie as this uses roti/chapati/whole wheat flour flatbread. So, try to make this dish at home and let us know your feedback.

Ingredients

  • INGREDIENTS FOR FILLING:-
  • Potato - 1 big sized, boiled.
  • Ginger-Garlic-Green Chilli paste - 1 Teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli Powder/Lal Mirch Powder - 1/2 Teaspoon or as per taste
  • Salt - to taste
  • Dry Mango Powder/Amchur - to taste
  • GaramMmasala/All Spice Mix - 1/4 Teaspoon or to taste
  • Coriander Leaves - 1 to 2 Tablespoon chopped
  • Oil - 1 Teaspoon + for roasting
  • INGREDIENTS FOR FRANKIE:-
  • Whole wheat flour - as required
  • Salt - to taste
  • Sliced Onion - as required
  • Green Chutney - as required
  • Chaat Masala - to taste
  • Chopped Coriander Leaves - as required
  • INGREDIENTS FOR CHILLI VINEGAR:-
  • Vinegar - 1 Tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Green chilli - 1, chopped

Instructions

  1. PREPARING THE CHILLI VINEGAR:- In a bowl, add vinegar, salt, and chopped green chilli. Keep aside for 30 minutes.
  2. PREPARING the FILLING:- Heat oil in a pan.
  3. Add ginger-garlic-green chilli paste. Sauté for a few seconds on a low flame.
  4. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and mix well.
  5. Then add boiled mashed potato. Mix well. Add salt, dry mango powder, garam masala, chaat masala, coriander leaves. Mix well then turn off the flame. Let it cool completely.
  6. Make long cutlets of the potato mixture. Roast them on a tawa for few minutes. Then take them out.
  7. PREPARING THE FRANKIE:- Knead the whole wheat flour with some salt. Then, make a chapati with it.
  8. Roast the roti for a few minutes by applying oil. Once done, take it out.
  9. Spread green chutney on the roti then place the cutlet on it.
  10. Top it with chilli vinegar, and sliced onion. Sprinkle chaat masala, and coriander leaves. Then, roll it to make a frankie. Cut it into pieces.
  11. Delicious 'Veg Frankie | Mumbai Famous Veg Frankie' is ready to be served.

    Hi, Thanks for this easy tasty recipe can you pl tell if we don’t have vinegar, what can be used instead, I have apple cider vinegar available with me.
