Aate Ka Halwa | Aata Halwa is a traditional Indian dessert. 

You can easily prepare this Aate Ka Halwa | Aata Halwa with wheat flour, ghee, and sugar. it is rich and contains an equal amount of sugar and ghee. This is an heirloom recipe for festivals and occasions. It is one such traditional sweet prepared especially during navaratras. it is mainly served with puri and black chana during festival seasons. Everyone will love this dish. It will give the perfect blend of texture and flavor that you will never forget.   • The ratio of ghee to whole wheat flour should be 1:1.
  • The ratio of water to whole wheat flour should be 1:1.
  • If desired, jaggery can be added instead of sugar.
  • The ratio of sugar to whole wheat flour should be 1:1.
  • If you want add milk instead of water.

Ingredients

  • FOR SOAKING SAFFRON :
  • Saffron / Kesar - 9 to 10 Strands
  • Water - 2 to 3 Teaspoons
  • FOR PREPARING AATE KA HALWA :
  • Clarified butter / Ghee - 1 Cup + 2 Teaspoon
  • Whole wheat flour / Gehu ka aata - 1 Cup
  • Luke warm water - 1 Cup
  • Sugar - 1 Cup
  • Cardamom powder / Elaichi powder - 1 Teaspoon + For garnishing
  • Pistachios flakes - 1 Teaspoon + For garnishing
  • Almond flakes - 1 Teaspoon + For garnishing

Instructions

  1. FOR SOAKING SAFFRON :
  2. Soak saffron in water for 30 minutes. Keep it aside.
  3. FOR PREPARING AATE KA HALWA :
  4. Heat ghee in a pan. Add whole wheat flour. Mix it well.
  5. Roast it for 8 to 10 minutes on low flame. Keep stirring continuously.
  6. Roast it till the color of whole wheat flour changes and a nice aroma begin to rise.
  7. Now keep stirring and add lukewarm water gradually. Then add sugar. Mix well.
  8. Keep stirring on low flame for 3 to 4 minutes. Add 2 Teaspoons of ghee. Mix well.
  9. Once done, add soaked saffron, cardamom powder, pistachio, and almond. Mix it well.
  10. Transfer it to a serving bowl. Garnish it with cardamom powder, almond, and pistachio.
  11. 'Aate Ka Halwa | Aata Halwa' is ready to be served.
