Aloo Ke Kofte | Aloo Vada | Aloo Bonda is a delicious snack for everyone. 

Aloo Ke Kofte | Aloo Vada | Aloo Bonda is a quick and easy snack of potato. This is a perfect tea-time snack for everyone in winter days. The spicy potato mixture is dipped in the batter and fried to make this snack. It is a famous snack all over India with different names. This is a mouthwatering snack for everyone. This goes well with any type of chutney. Everyone will love this snack. So, try to make this snack at home and enjoy with your family and friends.

This snack was prepared by Bharti Patni – a lovely mom from Rajasthan.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • You can adjust the spiciness according to your taste.
  • If you want you can avoid green peas as well.
  • Rest the batter for 10 minutes if you time, else, you can use the batter immediately.
  • The consistency of the batter should be thick yet flowing.

Ingredients

  • FOR POTATO MIXTURE:
  • Boiled Aloo/ Potato - 3 mashed
  • Green Peas/ Hare Matar - 1 to 2 Tablespoon
  • Hari Mirch/ Green chilli - 1 finely chopped
  • Adrak/ Ginger - 1/2 inch piece grated
  • Saunf/ Fennel seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Laal Mirch powder/ Red Chilli powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Haldi powder/ Turmeric powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Hing/ Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Amchur/ Dry Mango powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Garam Masala/ All spice mix - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Namak/ Salt - as per taste
  • Kala Namak/ Black salt - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Tel/ Oil - 2 Teaspoon
  • FOR BATTER:
  • Besan/ Gram Flour - 1 Cup
  • Laal Mirch powder/ Red Chilli powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Saunf/ Fennel Seeds - 1 Teaspoon
  • Garam Masala/ All spice mix - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Namak/ Salt - as per taste
  • Meetha soda/ Baking soda - a pinch
  • Tel/ Oil - as required for frying

Instructions

  1. PREPARING THE POTATO MIXTURE:-
  2. Take 2 teaspoon oil in a pan and heat it.
  3. Add asafoetida, grated ginger, and green chilli. Sauté for a few seconds and then add green peas. Add turmeric powder, mix well and sauté for a few seconds.
  4. Then, add mashed boiled potato. Mix well.
  5. Add fennel seeds, red chilli powder, salt, black salt, garam masala, and dry mango powder. Mix well and cook for a minute. Then, turn off the flame and let the mixture cool completely.
  6. PREPARING THE BATTER:-
  7. In a bowl, add gram flour, red chilli powder, fennel seeds, and salt. Mix well and add water to make a thick batter of flowing consistency. If you have time, rest the batter for 10 minutes; else, use it immedietly.
  8. Add baking soda to the batter and mix well.
  9. PREPARING THE ALOO KOFTE:
  10. Heat oil for frying. Meanwhile, make small balls of the potato mixture.
  11. Once the oil is hot, dip the potato balls in the batter and fry them in the heated oil on a medium flame.
  12. When they turn golden brown, take them out on a tissue paper.
  13. Delicious 'Aloo Ke Kofte | Aloo Vada | Aloo Bonda' is ready to be served.
