Ingredients

  • Onion / Pyaz - 1 Sliced
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful
  • Green chilli / Hari mirchi - 2 Finely chopped
  • Potato / Aloo - 1 Peeled and grated
  • Bread - 4 to 5 Slices
  • Water - As required
  • Carom seeds / Ajwain - 1/2 tsp
  • Rice flour / Chawal ka aata - 2 tsp
  • Asafoetida / Hing - 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder / Lal mirch powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Oil - For frying
  • tsp = teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Take bread slices in a mixing bowl. Add 1/2 cup of water to it and mash the bread slices.
  2. Then add grated potato, coriander leaves, onion, and green chilli. Mix well.
  3. Add carom seeds, rice flour, asafoetida, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander leaves, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Meanwhile, heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium flame. When the oil is medium hot, take a small ball sized pakoda mixture. Place it gently into the hot oil.
  5. Deep fry them on medium flame until crispy and light golden brown from both sides, and take them out to a serving plate using a slotted spoon.
  6. 'Aloo Pyaz Pakoda without Besan' is ready to be served.
