Besan Pyaz Ka Paratha | Besan Ka Paratha is a healthy meal option. Ingredients

  • Gram flour / Besan - 1 Cup
  • Whole Wheat Flour / Gehu Ka Aata - 1/2 Cup
  • Carom Seeds / Ajwain - 1/2 tsp
  • Dry Fenugreek Leaves / Kasuri Methi - 1 tsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Red Chilli Powder / Lal Mirch Powder - 1 tsp
  • Anardana Powder - 1 tsp
  • Onion / Pyaz - 1/2 Finely chopped
  • Coriander Leaves / Hara Dhaniya - A handful
  • Mint Leaves / Pudina - A few
  • Green Chilli / Hari Mirchi - 1
  • Clarified Butter / Ghee - As required
  • Milk - 1 to 2 tbsp
  • Water - As required
  • tsp = teaspoon
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Take onion, coriander leaves, mint leaves, and green chilli in a chopper. Chop it for a few seconds. Keep it aside.
  2. Take besan in a mixing bowl. Add whole wheat flour, carom seeds by rubbing between your palms, dry fenugreek leaves, salt, red chilli powder, anardana powder, chopped onion mixture, and 2 tsp of ghee. Mix well.
  3. Add 1 to 2 tbsp of milk. Then add water gradually to prepare medium soft dough. Let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Take the medium ball sized medium-soft whole wheat dough and make a round shaped circular peda from the dough. Dust it with flour and roll a peda to make a small paratha.
  5. Apply ghee on it. Now, fold it to make a triangle shape. Slightly press it. Dust it with flour and roll it to make a paratha.
  6. Meanwhile, heat a tawa. Place the prepared paratha on the tawa. Cook it from one side. Flip it once it is slightly brown, add ghee to the paratha and cook it from both sides on a low flame. Press the paratha while cooking it to make it crispy and cook it well.
  7. Once done, take it out to the serving plate.
  8. 'Besan Pyaz Ka Paratha | Besan Ka Paratha' is ready to be served.
